Lightweight Sport Rifle 
Lightweight Sport rifle is a fairly new discipline, but it has taken off with great enthusiasm.A light weight rifle of no more than 4.5 kilo's in weight, and normally Single shot bolt action magazine fed rifles are used and are fitted with a telescope
Competitions are held under NSRA (national small-bore rifle association) rules.
No other specialised equipment is used except a glove for the supporting hand if desired.
Lightweight Sports Rifle is shot at distances of 20 yards and 50meter including precision and timed competitions.
Rugeley Rifle Club has facilities for both of these distances, the 20 yard range is located indoors and the 50 meter range is outdoor.
