An athlete in competition

10 Metre Air Pistol is contested from grassroots level, all the way to the Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games.

Members take part in many competitions at club, county and national level and if they meet the qualifying scores at national representation competitions could be selected to shoot for their country. Many also shoot casually for the enjoyment of it!

Men, women and juniors can all take part and enjoy this demanding and rewarding discipline on the club’s two air ranges. As a club we are constantly developing our facilities. The new Training Room opened in 2020 for novice instruction and general air shooting, allowing the existing air range to be dedicated as a competition and training range with Sport Quantum electronic targets.

10m Air Pistol is governed domestically by the National Smallbore Rifle Association (NSRA) and internationally by the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF). We use exclusively .177 calibre air pistols as mandated for competition by ISSF and NSRA rules.

As we have club equipment available, we strongly recommend new members do not buy air rifles or pistols before joining, but instead spend some time getting to know the club equipment so they can make a more informed choice when it comes to parting with hard earned cash!
