Key Open Matches and events that Rugeley shooters are encouraged to compete in. Some are very local (Wolverhampton & Baldwin’s Gate). Others are a little further afield (Appleton, Bisley). The airgun matches may include some 2027 dates, reflecting the winter airgun season.
This list is not exhaustive and includes events that are:
- Local to Rugeley/Staffordshire or within about an hour’s drive.
- Nationally significant.
- Other high-quality events which Rugeley members routinely participate in.
There are many other quality events around the country such as the Haig (in Scotland) and matches run by Hampshire which are not included. See also the NSRA Events Calendar.

Smallbore
All smallbore members are strongly encouraged to enter:
- Staffordshire Combined Championship (2 August)
- NSRA National Rifle Meeting (22-29 August). It is possible to shoot just the first weekend (22-23), in lieu of the whole week.
